SAKI MATSUMOTO
Saki Matsumoto se ve svých knihách, na nichž spolupracuje se spisovatelkou Annou Bobrekovou, snaží vyjadřovat japonský animismus. Vydává knihy proto, aby sdílela odlišnou kulturu a názory, které dohromady tvoří příběhy. Skrze zájem o folklór a mytologii se zamýšlí nad spojením historie a přírody. Věří, že právě vizuální komunikace, grafika, textil a hudba jsou to, co je postupně budováno a předávano starší generací.
Její první knihou byla Škola v Baraumi. Jde o starou japonskou pohádku Kendžiho Mijazawy, jež nejen ilustrovala, ale také pro ni vytvořila grafický návrh přebalu a ruční vazbu. Kniha získala ocenění na nezávislém knižním trhu v Lipsku.
Druhá kniha Saki Matsumoto s názvem Ztracené jaro představuje originální příběh spojující japonskou mytologii a slovanský masopust. Knihu mimo jiné naleznete i v knihovně v Moskvě.

Japonská ilustrátorka a grafička vystudovala UMPRUM a je členkou Sdružení českých umělců a grafiků HOLLAR Praha a Klubu ilustrátorů. Mezi její techniky patří risografie, litografie, lept, kresba perem a mixed media.

Saki Matsumoto often focuses on expressing Japanese animism sense through books she collaborates on with the Czech writer Anna Bobreková. The author’s aim is publishing these books for sharing culture, opinion then making stories. Her interest in folklore things or mythology gave her the chance to think of connection of history and nature. She was aware of that it is the visual communication with graphic, textile and music, which is gradually constructed and inherited by the elderly. Her first book is Škola v Baraumi. It is a Japanese old fairy tale from Kenji Miyazawa with her illustration, design and hand made binding. It received a reward from the independent book fair in Leipzig. Her second book is The Lost Spring, an original story which comes from Japanese mythology and the Slavic tradition of Masopust. It is accommodated in the library in Moscow.
Saki Matsumoto
Japanese illustrator, graphic designer who studied at Prague’s VŠUP (UMPRUM) illustration master. She is also the member of the Association of Czech Graphic Artists HOLLAR Prague and Klub ilustratorů (Club of Illustrators). Tools: risograph, lithograph, etching, pen drawing, mixed media.
