Pro práci Jana Merty je příznačná transformace reálných témat v osobní projekci vlastního prožitku. Důrazem na fragmenty skutečných předmětů či postav gradovaným monumentálním rozměrem, atypickou kompozicí barevných ploch a tísnivou vyprázdněností prostoru v opozici k důvěrnému vztahu k daným zobrazovaným reáliím vzniká u všech děl několik významových rovin, což dokládá i koncepce a název výstavy Návrat, který je zřejmý jen zdánlivě.

Jsou mladí. Jsou sebejistí. Jsou úspěšní. Radek Brousil a Peter Puklus jsou na svých domovských scénách vnímáni jako umělci, kteří mají jasno v tom co a vědí jak. Jistota? V postsocialistické Evropě? V roce 2017? Když Vám táhne na čtyřicet? Ve společném výstavním projektu hraje ústřední roli dialogicky uchopená pochybnost. Nejistota se stává východiskem pro soubor nových prací, které nemají potvrzovat dosažené pozice, ale spíše otevírat nové horizonty.

Spojení objektů – kostýmů – rekvizit s autorským videem se v poslední době stává signifikantním znakem práce Tanii Nikuliny, studentky UMPRUM v ateliéru sochařství.
Výstava Přítelkyně Luny vycházející z nejednoznačného až lehce schizofrenního vztahu protagonistek krátkého filmu líčí intimní vztah v konstruovaných kulisách všednosti,
do nichž je vyzván vstoupit i divák, jehož přítomnost v rámci „Hostiny“ v jistých momentech splyne s přítomnými performery.

Jan Merta’s art is typified by the transformation of real-life subjects into personal projections of his own experience. Emphasis on the fragments of real objects and figures intensified by monumental dimensions, atypical composition of colour areas and the oppressive vacuum of the space in contrast to an intimate relationship with the given portrayed situations give rise, with all of the artist’s works, to several levels of meaning, which is also confirmed by the concept of the exhibition and its title, only seemingly clear.

They are young. They are self-confident. They are successful. Radek Brousil and Peter Puklus are perceived on their home art scenes as those who know what and they know how. Certainty? In post-socialist Europe? In 2017? When you are turning forty? Dialogically grasped doubt plays a central role in this joint exhibition project. Uncertainty has become the starting point for new works that do not aim to confirm positions already achieved, but rather open up new horizons.

The recent work of Tania Nikulina, a student of sculpture at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, has been marked by the combination of objects – costumes – props with the video medium. The Friend of the Moon exhibition rooted in the ambiguous, even slightly schizophrenic relation of the protagonists of the short film, depicts an intimate relationship taking place against the backdrop of the mundane, a setting into which viewers are invited. Their presence at the “Feast” will in certain moments blend with that of the performers.
