“How Empty of Me to Be So Full of You,” a series of large-format drawings on wooden panels and monochrome reliefs by Iva Davidová, reflects on reconstruction, the path from dystopia toutopia, and the renewed use of imagination. In creating these works, Iva draws on what is known as radical imagination, which is not merely rich fantasy but the power to think differently. It is about questioning entrenched norms, seeking new perspectives on the world, and opening up possibilities that do not yet exist. The very title of the exhibition refers to ecology and biophilia, to the closeness and love of humans for nature. It reflects mindfulness and a sense of our harmonyand unity with fauna and flora, but also environmental grief, the pain and sorrow over how theworld around us is dying. They demonstrate that “a new world is born of militant tenderness,” asthe inscription above them declares. Here, tenderness and gentleness become a revolutionary force, a flame, that can guide us through today’s world.
